The research team

This team is open to doctoral students, either with a DEA
(Diplome d'Etudes Approfondies), or waived of this prerequisite,
desirous of acquiring in three years a PhD (Philosophical Dissertation Diploma).
The research team is involved in several European and industrial projects.
It also participates to the Human Capital and mobility Network of the
EEC DG XII which provide support for students and researchers exchanges between
European countries.
Professor Maral, who heads the Toulouse site, is the french representative to
several COST projects (European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and
Technical Research).
Objectives
- Conducting research and studies in the field of satellite communications
in partnership with industry as well as national or European agencies.
- Enhancing the education of students within the framework of a research
and study program which will provide them with both technical and hands-on
experience.
- Favoring the reciprocal exchange of expertise between the Toulouse site
and the different departments of ENST.
- The Toulouse site has oriented its particular research activities to be
closely related to course instruction and to industry interests.
- The research projects are internally financed by ENST. Financing may be
complemented by an industrial support.
Research axis
- Personal and mobile satellite communications : constellation analysis,
networking
- VSATs networks : traffic modeling and network dimensioning
- Onboard processing satellite : digital antenna beamforming, demultiplexing
and baseband switching
- Digital receivers : synchronisation algorithms, receiver architectures
